Does your 10 year old want to read Shakespeare under a tree in the park this summer? Can your 8 year old calculate the distance to the sun?  Give your talented child the gift of a summer filled with learning at his or her pace on the subjects they find enjoyable. We have a limited number of spots available for children to explore the world with a talented and gifted teacher as their guide. Each camp is open to 10 children to be accompanied by 2 college student counselors (from either Columbia or NYU) and 1 G&T teacher for a very low 3.3:1 student to teacher ratio. The program will be located in lower Manhattan to take advantage of the great parks with outdoor activities to inspire them. Interesting lunches will be provided - A feast for body and mind!
 
We meet at 9 AM, have a morning meeting with warm up calisthenics, followed by work on our journals. We then split into groups for reading (submit reading list early to have your book chosen) and discussion - afterward we are off to lunch at one of the many interesting places in the neighborhood for exploring the eating habits around the world. After lunch, we have game time activities to get the creative juices flowing again, followed by science experimentation, a moment in history and math reminder - all meant to boost the brain power and get a jump on the coming school year.

In your email, please provide us with your student's age, grade, school attending, teacher's name and favorite book, thanks. This program for elementary school age children only.

Applications and Deposits due by December 15, 2009

We will email you a paypal invoice with your tuition cost if your child receives an opening in the program. This will allow you to pay by credit card or paypal account.  As long as your child meets the academic requirements, the spaces are filled on a first come basis.
